Photographer Studio Must-Haves
See below for some of the tried and true products I’ve purchased from Amazon to improve my photography and client experience with me. Everything from lighting, to organization to equipment can be found right on Amazon.
My Favorite Portable Lighting Source: Neewer LED Round Light. You can plug it into the wall at a client’s home or buy a battery pack for it. I call it “portable sunshine” because you can adjust the color temperature to give you exactly the amount of warm or cool lighting you need.
You can’t put a price tag on peace of mind - get this fire safe bag for all your clients memory cards, hard drives and other important documents.
Godox Off Camera Flashes are a favorite in the industry for good reason, they recycle quickly and give a ton of light from a small, portable and easy to carry light source. Get the magnetic diffusers to take your OCF to the next level.
GREAT for on-the-go or nighttime photography - plug in a light or charge your battery while on-location… even has a light on the side for a little extra help in the dark.
Newborn Must-Haves
I do not claim to be the master at newborn photography and I am definitely more fond of lifestyle newborn sessions as opposed to studio sessions, but here is a list of a few of my favorite things to make your newborn session stand out and match your aesthetic.
Don’t forget a basket or bowl - these are perfect for a little unassisted pose - just add a pillow and a blanket and a swaddled baby.
A newborn poser, perfect for one-time use or a beginner photographer. I love this set for lifestyle sessions because it is portable and just the right amount of support for unassisted posing.
Layering makes newborn portraits more interesting…. try a faux fur throw like this one. They come in several colors!
The perfect swaddling set - comes in lots of colors, but I love this color, sand, for a nice neutral palette.
What to Wear - Maternity Edition
Maternity sessions are so special… you never want to forget how it felt and looked to carry your babies. And a dress that shows off that bump makes everything perfect. Here are some of my favorites.
A simple slip under this robe makes for a elegant statement for maternity portraits. Posing options are unlimited.
